About Make Spoons

Make Spoons is just a teeny, tiny food blog about food I like, recipes I’m excited about, local eateries, and virtually anything and everything related to food! A California native, I recently moved back to Los Angeles after a four-year stint in Phoenix, Arizona. I love finding awesome new restaurants, farmers’ markets, and hidden gems throughout the city as well as re-discovering old classics. While I’m no culinary expert, this blog is just a fun little hobby where I document random food and travel experiences (when I’m fortunate enough to have the time and $$). Passionate about sustainability, great wine, craft beer, cheese, and an entire spectrum of good, wholesome ethnic eats.

I am a big supporter of natural, biodynamic wines but in today’s world those seem harder and harder to come by. While I don’t like that many winemakers won’t tell you what their process involves and that there are no government standards in this country for the preservation of more “traditional” wines, as a 20-something with a very limited budget, I’ve come to terms with having to live and learn. Tasting my way through the good, the bad, and, when I’m lucky, the marvelous.

  A Little About Me:

I am a freelance writer living in Los Angeles with a passion for food, music, film, and literature. My writing has appeared in the Phoenix New Times, Examiner.com, Up on the Sun, Tasting Table, The Full Pint, and the Rumpus. I do not have any professional culinary experience and all opinions of this site are all my own unless otherwise noted. An adventurous eater with a hefty appetite and a (mostly) sensible budget.
