Can you believe that Los Angeles has the  largest Thai population outside of Asia? This past Sunday we walked over to the Red Line and hopped on the subway for a whopping one stop over to Thai Town USA for their annual Songkran Festival (Thai New Year). This event is one of the largest Thai New Year celebrations in the world and I look forward to it every year.

Dozens upon dozens of vendors serving delicious Thai street food like amazing chicken satay and sweet sticky rice with fresh mangoes, live music, drag queens, Thai boxing, and more closed down a good portion of Hollywood Blvd. on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We thoroughly enjoyed our Thai iced teas with boba and various meats on a stick while making fun of drunks at the Singha beer garden, and all the Thai businesses in the neighborhood offered various specials including a great deal on the most amazing banana chips on the planet.
